Army, Security Forces Prevent Riot By Youths After Bomb Blast In Abuja

Abuja - It took combined forces of Nigerian Army, Security and Civil Defence Corps, FRSC, and anti-riot police to bring under control the youths angered by the latest Abuja bomb blast.
The gathering at the Nyanya Motor Park blamed the incident on the Government's inability to provide adequate security for Nigerians, and were about to take their frustration on the security personnel.
Young men at the scene vowed to find other means to protect themselves. A young woman who had just lost her brother insulted the military men for failing to provide adequate security.
According to the latest statement by the police,71 persons were killed, while 124 sustained injuries when a powerful explosion shook a busy bus station in Abuja early Monday morning.
Security agencies have been placed on red alert throughout the Federal Capital Territory following the explosion.
The masterminds behind the explosion are yet to claim responsibility for the attack, but, according to
eyewitnesses, the bomb was planted inside a car with Lagos registration number plates.
President Goodluck Jonathan and security chiefs have already visited the scene, as numerous public figures and political parties have condemned the attack.

Volunteers have been gathering at the National Blood Transfusion Service, Asokoro, to donate blood and help victims of today's attack.
