BIZARRE: Woman BURNT her house and killed her 2 year old infant over Sh 2,000

Nyatike residents in Migori County had a sad day one of 2014 after a woman burnt her house and killed her 2 year old infant when she given Sh1,000 for New Year shopping instead of 2,000.
The woman claimed the amount was too little and she needed a thousand bob more. The husband did not have that money and pleaded with her to manage the little they had.

According to a neighbour, the woman wanted to shop for food stuff: chapati flour, cooking oil, meat and soda. The husband who does not have a stable job could however not afford to cater for the expenses and gave her Sh 1,000 to buy necessities only.

The amount was too little to afford a decent New Year celebration and full of anger, she locked herself in the house with the kid and set the house ablaze.


The area police boss confirmed the incident saying that the man is being held in police custody to help with investigations. He condemned the act urging wives to understand their husbands financial status and avoid excessive demands.
